.:: When Spice Meets Crunch ::.

Take a look at that spice and also the golden crunchy cornflakes. Yums you may thing, but for me it's a little disappointing. Somehow, I always predict the new things that came out from KFC is always or not 90% always disappointing. Spiciness I like but the taste of the cornflakes was never there though and now my craving for Spicy has gone from bad to worst. When will my spicy ever come back to me?

My all time saviour the cheesy wedges ^^. Extra sauces and it was so finger licking good and this is what I call real KFC food ^^.

Here here the banner.

Overall: 3/5.

Address: Any KFC you can find in Malaysia.

.:: Home Made Sweet Potato Fritters ::.

Cravings for sweet potato fritters, here I go.

Ingredients:

Sweet Potato two of a kind, the purple version on the outside and white flesh in the inside as you can see above, and also the orangy sweet potato which is more to the sweet and softer side.

Next, I have added a new contestant ^^.

Two eggs. Total is 2 purple and 2 orang sweet potato.

The ingredient binder, cucur lemak manis ADABI or you can simpky replace it with any self raising flour or the cucur ADABI mix of other flavour.

Mix it with a 3/4 cup of water.

Mix it well together and you'll have a steady mixture of this batter.

Ta-daaa... the result.

Cut a small hole on the plastic bag and smooth the batter in it and squeeze it out to the hot pot of oil.

Wah-la... ready fried sweet potatoes and also those still in the hot oil pot ^^.

The end product was lovely, truly "lemak manis".

Finger licking good at the end.

Overall: 4/5.

p/s: could be better if it was mix with normal self-raising flour as it was a little too lemak manis(savoury).

.:: Salad Burger ::.

Burger anyone.. not any ordinary burger but Salad Burger...

Wholesome goodness I must say, only and only if you like wild rocket salads ^^.

I love mine at least.

Price at RM 5.29(at any Jusco supermarket).

Here's what the burger bun and the ingredients look like.

This is what you'll need for the burgers, which is two pieces of bread.

Here is the fresh Balsamic dressing for the salad before I forget. The dressing is a little sour and nutty, and it's great to go with wild rockets.

My choice of cornflakes: Nestle ^^. I have also eaten the Honey coated version with the same salad and it was also as fabulous as this. I  guess at the end any breakfast cereal will be just great for this salad too.

Salad with added crispiness, cornflakes yums.

Look at that, eating wild rockets is like eating meat. Certainly you'll have to enjoy it to understand what I really mean though ^^.I know people always have bad impressions when it comes to salad though.

Look at the end product, I am serious when I say the salad burger taste fabulous, but it will take only those who loves wild rocket to understand this.As for other salad lovers, you should try it with this Gardenia new and exciting products.

Overall: 4/5.

.:: Chicken Rice opposite St. Peter's Church ::.

I have always fond of chicken rice all my life, but I have started to neglect my fave for this food for health sake. Till one fine day, I decided to have with my mum and sister after mass.

Here we go:

I couldn't remember the price but it was quite pricey for half a chicken. Nevertheless the chicken was good with the chili and garlic as well ^^.

The way I like my porridge is really smooth and not those watery texture and those that you could still feel the shape of the rice. The taste was not bad.

Chicken rice ball was good to go with the chicken and a perfect texture of meat and rice. Chili and garlic sauce was marvellous and authentic. If you could just see the toasted bread on the near left, it used to be those Hailam bread but now they served with the normal bread which you can get it anywhere. It's from a choice of butter kaya or margarine kaya.

I also had the kopi kaw(thick coffee), but had misplace the pictures though ^^.

Overall: 3/5.

Address:
Opposite of St. Peter's Church, the row of shop houses.

.:: Formosa Taiwan@ Kuchai Lama ::.

Hello... hello... Taiwan food here I come!!!, that was what was on my head today.

My sister insisted that we go to this Taiwan food place at Kuchai Lama that she had tried before with her colleagues a few weeks ago.

So here we are:

Price at RM 4.20.

This is always my must have whenever we visit a Taiwan Restaurant. Bubble tea is my favourite. Obvious by it's name bubble(tapioca flour) tea, it's a great combination when it's paired with green tea.

This particular green tea can be compared to the one we normally have at Chatime too. My other favourite bubble tea will be T@Time Station. Price is rather reasonable too ^^.

Price at RM 4.90.

This is also a must have at a Taiwan Restaurant. The name of this dish is called Braised Pork Rice. For me, the whole dish is balanced, as it is accompanied with salty vegetables to overcome the oily feeling from the fats of the braised pork. The whole dish is really like a home comfort food.

Price at RM 6.90.

Another dish that we had was the Dry Noodle Pork Sauce. It's actually the same sauce as the braised pork from the rice, so it's also a great taste with the noodle too. I prefer the noodle and my sister prefer the rice.

We also had 3 side orders:

Price at RM 10.00.

This dish Fried Eggs with Taiwan Sausages was superb and was really different from what we normally have at pasar malam(night market) or those we normally had with shabu-shabu(steamboat). It has a very lightly spiced taste and the color as you can see above wasn't that reddish. It was just pale and goes very well with the color from the eggs too.

Price at RM 6.90.

We had also ordered the Taiwan Chicken Fillet, and both of us agree unanimously that it tasted far from nice. It was bland in taste and dry. Pasar Malam Uncle Bob should be given a better credit.

Read my post on Uncle Bob.

Price at RM 13.00.

Our next dish was the Fried Oyster. The fried oyster on the other hand was alright on the first few bites. After awhile indulging on this particular dish is not a decent one as it was rather oily, not to forgotten the fried eggs with Taiwan sausages was also on the oily side. My sister even felt like vomitting after a few bite of this particular dish.

The picture of the three side dishes was superb, but look can be rather deceiving too hehe.

How sweet we were also given desert at the end of the side dishes. The fruits felt rather "old", as we felt it was left in the fridge for quite some time already.

.:: Roti Bakar Siang Chang Cafe ::.

Old Town Kopitiam anyone?

I like my kopi(coffee) bitter and not sweet and my toast must be spread with butter and kaya(local jam made from eggs, sugar, and coconut milk, and is flavoured by pandan leaves, and later sweetened with sugar).

It must also be accompanied with kampung eggs.

Here it goes:

Price at RM 1.20 per piece of two bread put together.

The toast bread at here for me at least is the best I can find in Malacca. Located near the old cineplex and along Jalan Munshi Abdullah. I love my toast with butter and kaya, comparing to the margarine and kaya ones though.

When I have my toast bread I will always order a cup of thick coffee or kopi kawww accompanied with two kampung eggs. It's such a great combination when eating it together.

Price at RM 1.00 an egg.

This is the way I like my eggs. Yummy all the way with some pepper and soy sauce.

A closer sight at the sunny side up eggs ^^.

Mixed all up and your bread are ready to swim in the lovely colored eggs.

What have you to do when you finish you eggs ^^?

Hehe yeah soak the rest of the eggs with the coffee and drink right from the coffee base :D~~~

Here are the other food which are offered there:

Price at RM 2.60 for all of this Nyonya Delicacies.

This is not to my liking as it doesn't taste like how Nyonya kueh(delicacies) would taste like.

Price at RM 2.50.

I also had the chicken Hainan chicken meat for tasting and it's just ok for me. I must give some credit to the chili sauce though, as it was spicy and flavourful.

Overall: 3/5. Though I must give the toast, eggs and coffee a 4/5.

.:: Salad anyone? ::.

Hrmm let's the greenery show you what?

Anyone could have bought this box of salad anywhere ^*.. I got mine from Jusco, one of my favorite place to shop for groceries as they are undoubtly fresh ^^.

Sorry for the weird posting today as, I am trying to do it on my phone .. I will be posting on the go soon ^^

Price at RM 5.29.
An addition to this salad, I have added honey cornflakes and also crispy seaweed to it, to enhance the flavour.

.:: Pasar Malam: Uncle Bob ::.

My all time favourite food will be fried chicken. A must have food when visiting pasar malam(night market) will be Uncle Bob fried chicken, the fried squid and also the fried fish fritters.

I will only be highlighting Uncle Bob this time. On my later post I will elaborate more on other goodies which can be found at the pasar malam for sure.

Here here :)

Price at RM 6.50 per piece. (It like the size of two of a normal person palm.) I hope I describe it correctly though ^^.

It's always finger licking good for me as I love the way it is fried and escpecially the batter I must give a credit at, chewy yet crispy and the chicken is real juicy and tender. Best of all the chicken is fried without the chicken skin which is highly sinful :D...

This is the packaging.

And this is the leftover after I have taken quite a number of it.

Address:
Pasar Malam Sungai Long

Contact No.: I have yet to acquire.

.:: Roti Man Bakery ::.

I have always being fond of bread. So here I am trying breads everywhere. Spending for a small load of bread at RM 6.50 is a little pricey though, but if you really taste and see the ingredients, you'll say it's all worth.

Here:

Price at RM 6.50.

I have forgotten the name of this bread, but I can still remember the tag on it saying low sugar and healthy bread. So it was why I bought this bread and ontop of that I saw the over flowing block of cheese ^^.

Look at the amount of cheese and also on top of the bread was also burned parmesan cheese, and ya cheese again.

And of course, look at the bread, even the inner part of the bread contains more cheese.

I guess it really worth the price you pay for.
